Today's Webtip: Steambirds

a parallel reality turn-based air combat simulator.

I'm sure more than a few of you are familiar with the term Steampunk. If not, get thee to Google (or the search engine of your choice) and figure it out.

I'll wait.

Steambirds is a flight combat simulator set in a steampunk universe featuring aircraft powered by steam. I don't know if it ever actually makes any difference in the combat physics, but the aesthetics are nice and it's a pleasant twist to an otherwise over-done genre.

Gameplay itself is pretty simple. Point, click, and drag. You might want to do some basic planning as well, and paying atention to the stats of the aircraft you are up against could be a good idea too. Once you have done that, hit done, and let the round unroll. If you are lucky (or skilled) you should come out of the dogfight with no scratches and four stars. If not, you will end up a bunch of brass and rivets on the ground.
