It's true. The Eighties rocked. It might not always have been good rock, but it was at least Rock. Even those of us who spent the decade desperately avoiding anything even remotely mainstream, there are a few sounds that still managed to firmly lodge themselves deep inside our skulls.
Now for those of you who missed it, and aging band of Poodle-rockers who had been stranded on a desert island with nothing but their instruments, alcohol and a collection of 80's pop from a teenagers CD collection, have come back from the past to prove that even the most insipid pop of the era had the potential to rock the spots off your leopard-print spandex.
Rock Sugar have taken that decades hard-rocking riffs and mashed them up with some of the stickiest pop you could hope to step in. The results are amusing, frightening and listenable in a way L.A. denizens should easily be able to identify with.
