Today's Webtip: 2009 in review
Well, it certainly has been an interesting year. The Democrats have managed to out Republican the Republicans while taking home a Peace Prize for the effort, the banks went belly up, took a heap of cash and are now sitting pretty, Austria has enjoyed a series of einzelfälle, the world has lost (and found) a whole passel of interesting people, and the trickle up theory of economics has been proven to be most seriously effective.
All that, and I haven't even gotten around to serial ineffectiveness, global lauwarmen, ministerial morass, and burning universities here and across the planet.
Yep, it's been a heckuva year.
Of course, looking back, it's been a bit of a buzz-killing decade. But, you know what they say, the more things change, the more they remain the same.
To get a feel for how it's all developed you might want to check out the Daily Show's collection of yearly run-downs. They offer an admittedly US-centric view, but since the US are dominating global policy making (or not making as the case may be) these years, it's somewhat appropriate I guess.
