Today's Webtip: Rocket Science

for the rest of us. Yes kids, DO try this at home.

I realize the middle of November might not be the most opportune time be fiddling around with water fueled rockets, but the rash of recent space stories has me desperately wishing to play astronaut.

Since I'm not a successful ex boy-band member, I find my possibilities to play space-farer are rather limited. Winning the lottery or tossing my morals aside and joining the captains of high-finance are both highly unlikely, which leaves me with playing Eve-Online or getting back into model rocketry.

I haven't seen many model rocket kits in Austrian toy stores, so the the easiest way to heave things skywards seems to be making rockets out of junk. Old plastic bottles to be precise.

Instructables has quite a few guides available on the subject, but I will start you out with one that has some cool pictures of really big rockets. They are more fun to look at...
