Today's Webtip: Imagine

A massive mainstream media company started getting all experimental. Really. You don't have to imagine it.

HBO Has manged to make a bit of a name for itself by making quaint little television series that people seem to enjoy. I think they might have produced the odd film or two as well.

But now.

Now they're getting all experimental in the web.

HBO

That particular screenshot is form one of their works called "Art Heist". You can move the cube around to see the same event form a different perspective. Apparently you need to in order to make any sense out of the thing.

You can clisk on some other bits to get another view of the whole thing. Sort of mapped out an stuff. To be honest, I'm still trying to work my way through the whole thing.

But I like what I have seen so far. It's fun to let my head run around the logistics of the film, and its even sort of fun to watch the film. It's a lot of fun to use this example as a bit of inspiration to come up with other uses for this type of storytelling.

Because it's cool, and unless HBO (or someone else) tries to patent their method, I can hope to see more people playing around with this idea.

Of course, there is more to the site than just this one story, but you will just have to find them on your own. I have to get back to my other job doing some shameless self promotion:

don't forget the podcast.
