We were like "Oh Snap!"

Wednesday is the new Monday for me. Managed to get up late, then lock myself out of my apartment, get caught without a ticket on the subway... all this before one o'clock. To make things worse, me and Functionist turn up at the radio wearing the same T shirt. A big nicht nicht.

I remember Joyce telling me a couple of weeks ago that her house got flooded, and she lost a whole bunch of her vinyl. So I was pleasantly suprised when she told me a few days back that she's going to do an Austrian only mix. Joyce Muniz is a creative lady no doubt, always coming with the fresh ideas for the show. Tonight's the night of the Amadeus awards, so what could be better than coming with this trip down memory lane of great modern Austrian tunes?

For somebody like me, who hasn't been in Austria that long, all this is definitely a music lesson for me. Sure, I'm familiar with some of the older records from the likes of DSL, Stereotyp and Sofa Surfers. But there's a whole bunch of gems in this mix from people like Shanty Roots, Karl Moestl that got my ears open. Big shout out to Joyce once again, look out for part two of the Austrian mix in August.
