Today's webtip: Alice and Kev
The Sims are one of those things I have pretty much completely missed out on. I used to be an avid player of Sim City, but for some reason the idea of bossing a bunch of little people around never really caught my fancy.
Until now.
One enterprising gamer decided to try something different. His Sims were homeless, penniless, and in pretty rough shape. Kev, the father is an asocial wreck who has managed to provide a pretty bleak situation for his daughter Alice. Alice is a bright young girl who is trying her best to come to terms with life on the street, but hunger and exhaustion (and a lack of social skills) make it a bit difficult.

Their story is being told on a blog and it's surprisingly engaging. The second entry managed to push all of my dad buttons, and I had to work hard to keep my emotions in check. That surprised me.
The whole thing was interesting enough that I actually went out and bought the game. Another surprising development, since I don't really spend much time playing anything that doesn't involve rolling things up while listening to dippy music.
