On the road with Mongrel
Actually it would have been 3 weeks, but I couldn't make it to the first week of gigs because of the snow in London.

During this trip, I managed to break my headphones and get addicted to Roast Chicken flavoured crisps. Everything went pretty smoothly, everyone showed up on time for the gigs, except for Drew, Mongrel's guitarist, who missed his train from London to Sheffield, one of the sold out his gigs. But then even he managed to get there ten minutes before the show began, so it all worked out in the end. And he was cool about it too, super relaxed... I guess when you usually play with Pete Doherty in the band, you learn to adapt to different situations at short notice!
Mongrel do a smashing live show. Indie rock meets rap, with a very British touch to it. And the funny thing is, the crowd seem to be able to sing along to a lot of the tunes even though the album's not out yet! I guess that's the power of the internet, added to the fact that Mongrel know how to write catchy tunes. Out of all the gigs, I got to say that Sheffield and London were the best. Sheffield because most of the guys in the band actually come from Sheffield- its like EVERYONE knows Jon in that town! There might be a statue of him somewhere. London was great because usually the London crowd are a little bit stiff, you know, like in most major cities, the folks expect to be entertained by you rather than join in the fun. This time around the crowd really gave it their all.
