Political Campaigns ...

... frequently provide plentiful fodder for those of us prone toward advanced realism. They have even been known to push one or two people over the edge into a bottomless pit of cynicism.

Why?

Well aside from the mudslinging baby kissing, attack ads, and general annoyingness of most campaigns, they are frequently followed up with an extreme lack of follow-through. Many promises are made, but very few are actually fulfilled.

Well, that’s the way it usually feels at least. The truth might be a completely different beast.

So putting together a site tracking the progress of campaign promises is a pretty good idea. It’s a good idea because it might help us help politicians keep their promises, and they are a good idea because it might help reduce the level of cynicism out there.

I certainly know I want to be able to believe in fluffy bunnies and rainbows again…
