We bring you a review from FM4’s Kino unter Freunden with Ryan Gosling’s new movie Lost River. We take a look at Styria and the Landtagswahlen coming up there. And festival season has started: We will fill you in on the Aist Open Air and Berg 15 Festival, the Donauinselfest and Rock in Vienna. Plus: Austrian artist Yasmo is paying the FM4 Morning Show studio a visit.

Christina Hendricks is best known for her role as Joan Harris in the fascinating series „Mad Men“. But besides her television work, she recently made big impressions in small film roles. In Ryan Goslings surreal directing debut „Lost River“, Hendricks plays a bigger part now, as a single mom in a wrecked neighborhood in Detroit. We tell you more about the exciting career of the American actress. (Christian Fuchs)

Former British Prime Minister, Tony Blair has announced that he will be resigning as Middle East peace envoy. Blair has held the post since 2007 but his appointment was controversial from the start with many feeling that a man who so strongly supported the war in Iraq could not be the right man for the job. Environmental justice
The annual Erdgspräche (Earth Talks) are being held today in Vienna’s Hofburg and will cover a variety of environmental subjects from “Cities of the Future” to “Environmental Justice”. One of the speakers at this year’s event is the American sociologist, Robert Bullard – a man known as the “father of environmental justice”.

Der Kölner Musiker Roosevelt besucht vor seinem Gastspiel im Fluc das FM4 Studio und spricht über sein bald erscheinendes Debüt-Album.

Film: Lost River
„Lost River“ ist das Regiedebüt von Schauspieler Ryan Gosling, ein dystopisches Märchen, das sich gut mit dem kaputten Mythos Amerika trifft. Die alleinerziehende Mutter Billy (Christina Hendricks) lebt mit ihren beiden Kindern Bones (Iain De Caestecker) und Franky (Landyn Stewart) in Lost River, einem trostlosen Ort, der zunehmend zur Geisterstadt wird, da die Immobilienkrise die Bewohner wegtreibt. Die Unterwelt und die Kleinkriminalität floriert und sie scheint die Kleinfamilie in den Abgrund zu reißen. (Petra Erdmann)

FM4 Draußen: Wellenpark Tirol
Wo heute noch Gräser und Blumen blähen, sollen bald schon Wellen brechen. In Kirchberg in Tirol soll ein Wellenpark entstehen, groß wie sechs Fußballfelder, in dem sich SurferInnen aller Leistungsstufen auf bis zu zwei Meter hohen künstlichen Wellen austoben können. FM4 Draußen Redakteur Simon Welebil hat sich das Konzept angesehen.

Wiener Festwochen: Hotel Metropole
Im Hotel Metropole am Wiener Morzinplatz war bis 1945 das Gestapo Hauptquartier in Wien untergebracht. Das Gebäude wurde 1945 zerstört, heute steht hier ein Wohn- und Geschäftshaus. Im Rahmen von into the city bei den Wiener Festwochen gestalten verschiedenste KünstlerInnen im und um das ehemalige Hotel Metropole ein Programm, das von Interventionen im öffentlichen Raum über ein Treffen mit ZeitzeugInnen bis zu einer Ausstellung reicht. Irmi Wutscher dreht mit Wolfgang Schlag, einem der Kuratoren, eine Runde auf dem Morzinplatz.

FM4 Extraleben: "Virtual Reality"
Das seit den neunziger Jahren von vielen schon totgeglaubte Thema VR erlangt seit zwei Jahren neue Popularität aufgrund neuer Entwicklungen wie Oculus Rift, Google Cardboard oder SteamVR / Vive. Bisher sind nur Entwicklerkits, Demos und Experimente erhältlich, aber spätestens Anfang des nächsten Jahres werden die kommerziellen Versionen der neuen Headsets und die ersten AAA-Games erwartet. Was bedeutet der neue VR-Trend für die Videospielkultur der Zukunft?

Film: Natalie Borges
„Fang den Haider“ heißt die neueste Dokumentation der Belgierin Nathalie Borgers, die bereits mit „ Kronen Zeitung – Tag für Tag ein Boulevardstück“ ihren Blick auf Österreich von außen geworfen hat. Nun untersucht , warum der 2008 bei einem Unfall verstorbene Jörg Haider zu so einem Mythos geworden ist, der von genauso vielen Österreichern verehrt wie verachtet wird. FM4 Filmredakteurin Petra Erdmann hat die Filmemacherin ins Homebase-Studio eingeladen.

Musik: Rangleklods
Das dänische Elektropop-Duo Rangleklods - Esben Andersen und Pernille Smith-Sivertsen - veröffentlichte eben ein neus Album - "Straitjacket" so der Titel. Rangleklods über die Zwangjacken des Lebens etc. Eva Umbauer porträtiert Rangleklods.
