Today's Webtip: Pop Music Masterclass
Ok, I was a geek in school, so I guess it's not too surprising that I really enjoyed taking things apart to understand how they worked. That meant I even enjoyed things like sentence deconstruction when we were learning about grammar. I also both loved and hated text analysis and ripping apart poetry and prose.
I hated it because I was convinced most authors didn't go through a conscious process and that our interpretations were too presumptuous, but I loved it because breaking everything down into little bits made it easier to come up wit a creation process for myself.
I wish we had done the same thing in music class.
Luckily enough, there is a music class we can all take. One taught by someone I would have loved to have had as a music teacher. Chill Gonzales.
