Today's Webtip: Pillow Fight!!!!!
I have had a most excellent morning. As a matter of fact, I don't think I have ever had so much fun in the FM4 Morning Show.
Why?
Because Maylin Kretschmar and Gudrun Grondinger were in the studio. They are pro pillow fighters about to make their way to Brooklyn for the pillow fighting world championship.
As a father of two kids, I'm no stranger to pillowfighting. It doesn't happen that often, but every now and then we are able to slide into a bout of silliness and let the feathers fly. But that kind of pillowfighting wasn't what I ran into today.
Since we were playing around with the ide of staging a small fight in the studio, I thought it might be a good idea to do a test match outside first. Sometimes my inner dad get's the best of me. This is what I saw:
Didn't that look like fun?
Needless to say I had to try it out. So we made some room in the corner, pushed the mics (and other easily damaged objects) out of the way, and slugged it out in the studio.
It was awesome.
Maylin and Gudrun belong to the Punching Polsters, otherwise known as the Austrian Pillow Fight League. They have been training for a year to head off to the championship, and you can read about them and their club on the club's homepage.
It has all sorts of useful information, photos, and of course the rules. The rules that make it very clear that I would have to give up my dreams of becoming a semi-pro pillow fighter.
It's just not in my genes I guess.
So anyone want to start a mens league?
