JERK!

It's been a minute since Souljah Boy "Crank Dat" and Snap music already feels old. Big shout out to Adia for letting me know about this. Apparently I'm late on this, since it's actually something that's been around in LA for a couple of years already. My excuse is that I'm not an African American high school kid living in Urban Los Angeles. If I was though, I would no doubt be wearing lime green skinny jeans with SBs or Chucks and a loud neon tee trying to "jerk" ... to be honest I can see kids from South East Asia getting into this; the apparel is favourable plus we like doing group dances. All major labels putting out Jerk records in that part of the world please send me a cheque for this piece of valuable marketing advice.
I've heard maybe a dozen Jerk tunes, it sounds to me like a mixture of hyphy and snap music (nice!) Here's a couple tunes that I can recommend.
- New Boyz "You're a Jerk" - that's the Jerk anthem by the looks of things.
- Clothes off Movement "Better than you" - sexy! Especially the way she says "h-way better than you can" in the chorus.
Since Jerk is about the dance and the fashion as it is about the music, go on to youtube and just type in jerkin and you will find videos of that nature aplenty.
