The worst thing about Valentines day, aside from placing your ego on the line and eventually having your heart ripped out, dashed to the wayside and pierced by the tip of 8" stilettos, is trying to come up with the appropriate gift.
Chocolate? Only if you want to send the message that you're cheap and have the creativity of a centrist lemming.
Jewelery? You probably wont get that one right.
Flowers? The thorny ones, or the ones that smell like rotting meat?
A slot car racing set? As tempting as it may be, you will go down in family history as the guy who got it REALLY wrong.

Well, diamonds might be forever, but a mixtape comes pretty darn close. The advantage of course, is that you aren't buying into some highly questionable business practices (if you can avoid majors anyway) and you will still be able to afford dinner.
Since muxtape took a dive and resurfaced as some bastardized attempt at appeasing the music industry, it has been completely useless. Real tapes just aren't realistic, and CDs make a one to many distribution pretty difficult, the best thing left might just be 8Tracks.
The best thing about 8Tracks, is that if you are too lazy or uncreative to put together your own mix, you can just kick back and enjoy the fruits of other people's emotional labor instead.
