Mit seinem neuen, in Cannes uraufgeführten Drama „Mia Madre“ schließt der italienische Autorenfilmer Nanni Moretti an persönlich gefärbte Arbeiten wie seinen Welt-Hit „Das Zimmer meines Sohnes“ an: Margherita Buy spielt eine Regisseurin, die gegen ihre Kreativblockade und einen exzentrischen Star-Schauspieler (John Turturro) kämpft und dann auch noch Abschied nehmen muss von ihrer geliebten Mutter.

French president, Francois Hollande wants to extend the state of emergency, imposed after the Paris terror attacks, for a further three months and is using a never-before-used article of the Lisbon treaty to call on EU partners for help. We get the latest from our Paris correspondent Catherine Field.

The downing of the Russian passenger plane over the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt may have been pushed from the headlines but the investigation continues. Today our Middle East Bureau Chief, Karim El Gawhary brings us up to date on the latest including the arrest of two employees at Sharm el Sheikh airport.

The Brussels district of Molenbeek has become the focus of attention following the Paris terror attacks. Brussels correspondent Kevin Ozebek describes Molenbeek, the mood after the attacks and the district’s historical links with extremism.

Surveillance and intelligence
Europe’s security forces are coming under increased scrutiny now that it seems clear that at least some of the perpetrators of the Paris terror attacks were known to police. Sajjan Gohel, International Security Director at the Asia Pacific Foundation analyses the failures and successes of Europe’s surveillance and intelligence communities.

CETA and TTIP
Many people in Europe are worried about TTIP, the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership currently being negotiated with the United States. But there is similar agreement between Europe and Canada called CETA which is much closer to completion and which activist Maude Barlow, National Chairperson of the Council of Canadians, says should worry Europeans just as much as TTIP does.

Film: Die Tribute von Panem - Mockingjay Teil 2

Jennifer Lawrence kehrt in "Mockingjay Teil 2" als rebellische Katniss wieder, an ihrer Seite agieren Kaliber wie Julianne Moore, Donald Sutherland und der verstorbene Philip Seymour Hoffmann in einer seiner letzten Rollen. Christian Fuchs hat sich nach Panem begeben und berichtet über das Ende der Blockbuster-Saga.

Die US-Band Death Cab For Cutie begann vor fast 20 Jahren als kleine Indierockband und wurde im Laufe der Jahre eine erfolgreiche Rockband. Auf dem aktuellen Album "Kintsugi", dem bereits achten von Death Cab For Cutie, ist Gitarrist/Keyboarder/Songschreiber Chris Walla leider nicht mehr dabei. Sänger Ben Gibbard führt die Band nun als Trio weiter. Anlässlich ihres Auftritts im Gasometer in Wien trifft Eva Umbauer Death Cab For Cutie zum Interview.

Regisseur Stephan Richter im Interview
Mit "Einer von uns" feiert der Dresdner Stephan Richter, der seit mehr als 10 Jahren in Wien lebt und arbeitet, sein Spielfilmdebüt. Das Drama über die Ermordung eines jugendlichen Supermarkt-Einbrechers ist inspiriert von wahren Ereignissen: 2009 trafen die Schüsse eines Polizisten einen 14-Jährigen tödlich. Petra Erdmann hat den Autor und Regisseur Stephan Richter in die FM4 Homebase eingeladen.
