A deal to limit Iran's nuclear capabilities is being hailed as a "historic understanding" by President Obama and a "win-win outcome" by Iranian foreign minister, Javid Zarif. Israel and the American right wing hawks are expressing condemnation and dismay. International security analyst, Paul Rogers, assesses the deal and its wider implications.

Al Shabab militants have killed around 150 people in an attack on a university campus in north-east Kenya. The Al Qaeda related group singled out Christians and shot them. Richard Dowden of the Royal African Society gives his reaction to the events.

FM4 Artist Of The Week: Sufjan Stevens
Der US-Musiker Sufjan Stevens sagt über sich "this is not an art project, this is my life". Sufjan Stevens stammt aus dem Bundesstaat Michigan, lebt aber heute in Brooklyn, New York. Seine Neigung zu epischen Konzepten bewegte Sufjan Stevens – sein Vorname ist ein alter persisch-arabischer Name – unter anderem zu Alben wie "Michigan" und "Illinois", einer Sammlung biblischer Songs ("Seven Wans"), einem elektronischen Album für die Tiere des chinesischen Tierkreises ("Enjoy Your Rabbit"), zwei Weihnachts-Boxsets und einem bahnbrechenden Ton-Gedicht für den Brooklyn-Queens-Expressway, beauftragt von der Brooklyn Academy Of Music. Mit seinem neuen Album "Carrie & Lowell" kehrt Sufjan Stevens zurück zu seinen Indie-Folk-Wurzeln. Das Album, eben eine sehr persönliche Platte, die benannt ist nach Stevens' Mutter und Stiefvater, behandelt vorallem das Leben, die Liebe und den Tod. "Carrie & Lowell" von Sufjan Stevens gilt unter MusikkritikerInnen und Sufjan Stevens' Publikum schon jetzt als Meisterwerk.
