Retro-LAN-Party "Barcraft Classic"
Seit über einem Jahr werden in Österreich besondere Public-Viewing-Veranstaltungen durchgeführt. Gezeigt werden dabei keine Fußball-Matches, sondern Partien des populären Strategiespiels "StarCraft II" (FM4 hat berichtet). Aber was ist eigentlich mit dem originalen "StarCraft"? Das ist 1998 erschienen, als die Spielewelten vielfach noch in 2D waren und man mit dicken Röhrenmonitoren und großen Tower-PCs gespielt hat. Dieses Erlebnis wird nun auf der Veranstaltung "BarCraft Classic" in Wien wieder in die Gegenwart auf die Bühne zurückgeholt - mit LAN-Party, Turnier, Vorträgen und Live-Programm. Elisabeth Katzensteiner was studying Social and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Vienna. And of course with any area of anthropological research it is completely natural to go to your chosen place of study. The problem here though: Elisabeth’s topic was the phenomenon of feminicidio (the brutal murder of women in the northern Mexico city of Ciudad Juárez), alongside the drug war that’s taking place there. Despite the obvious dangers, Elisabeth made a lone journey to Ciudad Juárez and she came into the Reality Check studio and spoke about her trip and what the people of Ciudad Juárez had told her about the murder of women there.

Das Duo, bestehend aus den Jünglingen Sam France und Jonathan Rado, gilt als eine der heißesten Nummern für das Jahr 2013. Im Jänner erscheint das zweite Album innerhalb weniger Monate. Christian Lehner hat die Newcomer in NYC zum Speed-Dating-Kennenlern-Interview getroffen.
