Though Uwe Scheuch has resigned and handed over his office to his brother Kurt, Carinthia is not cooling down. We report from the demonstrations that are taking place in Klagenfurt.

And our dear Chris Cummins is out and about on his bike these days, cycling through Austria. We will have a chat with him about his experiences on the road.

Besides all that Immanuel Kant will visit us in the studio to talk about the Remote Rover Experiment he is working on together with the team from the Part-Time-Scientists. They are constructing the very first private and nonprofit Lunar Rover that will be sent up to the moon. And you can be part of the project.

Plus: Johnny Bliss is reporting from the Olympic Games in London and Thurston Moore from Sonic Youth is paying Vienna a visit.

• Kofi Annan resigns

The UN Special Envoy to Syria, Kofi Annan, has resigned from his post and is heavily criticising the way the security council is handling the crisis in Syria. Russia and China have consistently blocked any resolutions that could lead to anything that could be interpreted as regime change from outside. But it's not just the Security Council that has been making problems for Annan, the USA and even the Syrian rebels themselves have been making his job impossible, according to UN analyst and commentator, Andreas Zumach.

• North Korea appeals for food aid

Aidan Foster-Carter looks at North Korea's decision to ask for food aid following the catastrophic floods that have been hitting the country.

Wegen großem Erfolg verlängert! Das FM4 Kochbuch gibt’s ab 3. August wieder im FM4 Shop. Mit dabei die besten Kochrezepte unserer FM4 HörerInnen. Aber auch viele Band haben mit uns gekocht. Deichkind, Kreisky, Frittenbude, die Stammbands der Wiener Labels Fettkakao und seayou records. Und heute bekochen uns Luise Pop bei einer ganz speziellen „Apfel-Pyjama-Party“: Ihre unwiderstehlichen Äpfel im Schlafrock. Yum Yum!

Stuck Festival in Salzburg
Freitag und Samstag findet im Salzburger Rockhouse zum dritten Mal das STUCK Festival statt und bringt mit Acts wie den Crystal Fighters, BOY, Gold Panda, Light Asylum und vielen mehr wieder eine bunte Mischung aus Indie, Pop und Elektronik. Philipp L’Heritier berichtet.

Atomique: Die Liaison des Wiener Produzententrios „Atomique“ im Jahr 2008 mündete zuletzt in der Wahl zur FM4 Soundparkband des Monats Juni. Kollaborationen mit Szenegrößen wie Jenna G sowie dem englisch-israelischen Dubstepduo „Jazzsteppa“ sind erste Schritte, um auch international auf sich aufmerksam zu machen. Die Releases der Tunes “Never Coming Home feat. Jenna G" und "Fly on it feat. Delight" (auf dem hauseigenen Label Dub:iouz Records) schafften es auf die aktuellsten Podcasts des renommierten britischen KMAG (ehemaliges Knowledge Magazin). Mitte Juni veröffentlichten Atomique gemeinsam mit P.Tah und Con die Aspekte EP, deren Track „Livestream“ die FM4 Soundselection Vol.26 komplettiert sowie auf Viva Rotation – mit dem aktuellen Video – vertreten ist.
Nach ihrem Liveauftritt in La boum könnt ihr Atomique auch noch bei der Dubstep.at Summer Session am Badeschiff in Wien erleben!

Camo & Krooked werden wieder alle Facetten der Bass Music hosten und bringen euch auch diesmal wieder viel ungehörte und exklusive Bassmusik aus den eigenen Reihen mit. Es gibt einen Guestmix vom Gewinner des "Best D&B Newcomer Dj"-Awards DJ AMC aus London zu hören und brandneue Tunes und Remixes von TC, Zomboy, DC Breaks und noch vieles mehr. Natürlich wird auch nicht auf die Klassikerrubrik vergessen und es gibt einiges an Hintergrundinformationen direkt aus der Szene.

Richard Long (Graz, AUT): „Ohne Musik würde ich durchdrehen!“, erzählt Richard Sbuell am Telefon. „Ich kann mir seit meiner Jugend keinen einzigen Tag vorstellen, ohne meine Lieblingstunes anzuhören oder neue Tracks zu entdecken, vor allem im deepen, elektronischen Genre. Habe Material aus den letzten drei Jahrzehnten zusammengesammelt, das ich immer wieder in meinen Sets verarbeite.“

Erol Alkan-Another bugged out mix (!K7 / Alive): Der DJ, Taste-Maker, Weltenbummler und Fixstern der Club-Szene hat für die "Bugged Out" Mix CD Serie nach acht Jahren erneut zwei unglaublich gute Sets zusammengestellt. Er nahm die beiden Mixe in einigen Takes auf - ohne computerbasiertes Beat-Matching oder andere Studio-Tricks. Die Auswahl ist ziemlich eklektisch und mit Tracks aus 4 Jahrzehnten eine wahre musikalische Reise.
