• Parliamentary elections in France

The left wing parties appear to be sweeping ahead in the first round of France's parliamentary elections. Hugh Schofield reports from Paris on the results so far and their implications.

Artist of the Week: Marsimoto
Mit seiner grünen Maske und dem grün glänzenden Umhang könnte Marsimoto einem Superhelden-Comic entsprungen sein. Das Alter Ego des Berliner Rappers Marteria erzählt mit gepitchter Stimme poetische Geschichten von Basketbällen und Indianern und hüllt die Welt in grüne Rauchschwaden. "Grüner Samt", so der Titel des dritten Marsimoto-Albums, strotzt nur so vor Zitaten und Metaphern. Einige der Songs der Platte wurden in einem gleichnamigen Kurzfilm visualisiert. Demnächst ist Marsimoto live auf der FM4-Planet-tt-Bühne beim Donauinselfest zu sehen. Davor nehmen wir ihn noch in unserer "Artist of the week"-Rubrik näher unter die Lupe. (Alex Hertel)

Teures Wohnen für Studierende?
Im Herbst 2010 hat der Bund die Sanierungsförderungen für Studentenheime eingestellt. Damals waren die Befürchtungen groß, dass deswegen die Preise der Zimmer steigen würden, und einige Studentenheime schlimmstenfalls schließen müssten. Barbara Köppel fragt nach, wie sich die finanzielle Streichung wirklich ausgewirkt hat.

Film: Rock of Ages
Der Regisseur der US-TV-Serie "Glee", Adam Shankman, hat nun für die Leinwand das Broadway-Musical "Rock of Ages" adaptiert. Rund um die Kompilation von Eighties Rockklassikern von Bands wie etwa Bon Jovi erzählt "Rock of Ages" von zwei Twens, die im Rockschuppen "The Bourbon" von Kellern zu Sängern aufsteigen wollen. Tom Cruise als altvorderer Rockstar ist neben Alec Baldwin und Catherine Zeta-Jones aus der Hollywoood-A-Starliga angerückt, um dem Kinomusical zum Aufstieg zu verhelfen. (Petra Erdmann)

Patti Smith
Man nennt sie die "Godmother of Punk", dabei war der New Yorkerin Patti Smith die Drei-Akkorde-Anarchie stets mehr Vehikel für ihre Poesie als Zielbestimmung. Nach acht Jahren seit dem letzten Studioalbum, der Aufnahme in die Rock and Roll Hall of Fame und dem Erhalt des renomierten National Book Awards für ihre Memoiren "Just Kids", ist Smith mit dem Album "Banga" zurück. Christian Lehner hat reingehört und Patti Smith in New York gesprochen.

Wohnen für Hilfe
Das Grazer Projekt vermittelt Wohnraum zwischen Studierenden und älteren Menschen, die Hilfe im Haushalt brauchen. Das Prinzip ist einfach: 1m2 Wohnen = 1 Stunde Hilfe im Monat. Gegenleistung für 30 Quadratmeter sind also z.B. 30 Stunden Gartenarbeit, Haustierpflege oder Einkäufe und Behördenwege erledigen. Barbara Köppel besucht so eine Alt-Jung-WG und sieht sich an, wie das Konzept in der Praxis funktioniert.

Dntel - "Aimlessness"
Der kalifornische Produzent Jimmy Tamborello hat mit seinem Album "Life is full of possibilities" vor über zehn Jahren einen Meilenstein der elektronischen Popmusik veröffentlicht und ist in der Zwischenzeit im Duo The Postal Service mit Ben Gibbard von Death Cab For Cutie zu ziemlicher Berühmtheit gelangt. Gerade ist das neue Album seines Solo-Projekts Dntel erschienen – ein wenig überraschend vielleicht bei Pampa Records, dem in Hamburg stationierten Label von DJ Koze. Wir haben uns "Aimlessness" genauer angehört und uns mit Jimmy Tamborello unterhalten. (Philipp L'Heritier)

Wann immer Robert Rotifer was für seine nächste Sendung ankündigt (diesmal im Wochentakt, Eva Umbauer hat sich für eine Woche entschuldigt), kommt garantiert was anderes: In diesem Fall doch noch nicht das Interview mit Richard King über sein Buch "How Soon Is Now", sondern das mit Kevin Rowland über "One Day I'm Going To Soar" von Dexys, ihr erstes neues Studioalbum seit "Don't Stand Me Down" (1985). Ein Instant-Klassiker, behauptet Mojo, und es stimmt trotzdem!
