FM4 Unlimited

29.6.-3.7.: So this week we decided to do a little best of Unlimited guests. Best of is probably the wrong word to be using, it's more like some of the mixes that we're in the mood for listening to this week.

Diese Woche ist als warm up zum Start des FM4 Unlimited Summerteams zu sehen, das am Montag den 6. Juli los geht oder spielt. Infos folgen! Hier ein paar Worte zum aktuellen Sendeplan.

Boom Monk Ben (Ninjatune) kommt aus Glasgow und hat musikalischen Anschluss an die Solid Steel Crew gefunden. Mehrfach war er in der Radioshow von Coldcut bereits an den Turntables. Sein live schedule bringt ihn demnächst bis Südafrika, vorher hält er für zwei Stopps in Österreich: Freitag (3.7.) im Cafe Leopold und Samstag (4.7.) gastiert er im Rahmen des 4 Elements Festivals in Graz.

DJ Buzz (Waxolutionists) kommt mit neuer Platte und natürlich seinen aktuellen Favourites zu uns ins Studio. Buzz hat die Hände am Mischpult und definiert seit Jahren den klanglichen Output der Waxos. Jetzt erscheint sein Soloprojekt mit dem für Sci-Fi Fans vielversprechenden Titel: Cosmic War of the Planets.

Ausgangsmaterial war ein verschollener Science Fiction Film den Buzz in irgendeinem Museum aufgetrieben hat. Ein neuer Soundtrack zum Film gemeinsam mit Gästen wie Dorian Concept war das Ziel. Hier das beeindruckende Ergebnis, ein perfektes Zusammenspiel von Originalton, Samples und Rapper Frank Nitty.

DJ Buzz Cosmic War of the Planets erscheint am Freitag, 3. Juli auf Vinyl und DVD!

Our homies DJ Tuco & Quime are two English transplants who are spreading the good sound in Prague with their legendary club nights and their fresh to def DJ mixes. They also run the excellent meanbucket blog, so you should definitely go and check that out.

On a sidenote, Quime is partial to beer while Tuco is fond of kebabs (although he's the one drinking the beer in the pic). After Tuco came down to play for the Hell Yeah night with me and Haaksman last last year, his first priority was to go and get himself a kebab. In fact, that was the first thing he mentioned upon arrival, that he was going to get himself a kebab, as a good kebab is a rare find in Prague. I think that Tuco had a special navigation system in his car that displays all the kebab shops in the vicinity.

Today, we'll be playing a mix from Pezo Fox that he did for us a couple of months back. Some nice mid skool hip hop, rnb and new jack swing. Stuff that makes us want to dance like him.

Since we're on the watching stuff on the internet tip, here's the video to the Jay Z D.O.A tune. Video is alright... Jay looks like Lenny Kravitz in a couple of the clips to me.

Also, just finished the Art of Pop mixtape Vol. 2 for Mpho. You get to hear it first! I havent even seen the cover art yet!
