Schools and public buildings remain closed and soldiers are patrolling the streets. Reality Check asks how long can this continue?

Brussels is a city of 1.2 million people; however policing is divided into six rival forces, while the city is governed by 19 different mayors. So coordinating a response to a serious and possible imminent terrorist attack is a challenge for all the authorities concerned

Despite several arrests and a roundup of suspects, a third day of lockdown means that schools are closed and cafés and bars are deserted. So how long can the Belgium capital sustain this period of uncertainty and the high alert level? We heard from our correspondent in Brussels for the latest.
