Authors from across the planet denounce surveillance and make a plea for an international charta for digital rights.

The Snowden leaks have been rather effective. No other story has been as succesful at raising awareness of surveillance and privacy issues as the ones coming out of the NSA leaks.

The results have been a rather long run of front page headlines on surveillance and privacy issues, increased awareness of the issues outside of the usual echo-chambers and a few high-profile open letters to politicians and the public.

In Großbritannien berichtet der Guardian

At the beginning of the week internet and tech companies made a plea for changes to U.S. surveillance practices and now a group of Authors from across the globe have called for an international charter of digital rights.

You can read the call, signed by 560 authors from 85 countries at faz.net.
