Today's Webtip: vorleser.net
I like reading. I also like reading to other people. Unfortunately, it's hard to find someone to read to me.
That's where audiobooks come in. A convenient way of having someone else to all the work. Unfortunately, they can be pretty expensive. I mean, really expensive. I can understand the economics behind the price, but I'm enough of a cheapskate that I find it hard to justify the price. I would rather just buy the book.
And as much as I like the idea behind librivox.org it's still pretty hit and miss. Some of the volunteer readers do a good job, but the others...
Besides, their German selection is a bit weak.
So i was really happy when I found www.vorleser.net they have around 550 audio books available right now, and the readers I have heard so far have been excellent. Last night I enjoyed a wonderful version of Robin Hood and now I'm rying to decide between Franz Kafka short stories, or some Sherlock Holmes.
