Today's Webtip: Stupid OS Tests

Which OS are you? Which one should you use? I don't know, but I have the tests that say they do...

Riem asked me which system I thought se should use yesterday, and I promised to have a webtip for her that would answer that question.

Of course, I didn't promise to provide a site that would offer a really useful answer, so I don't need to feel bad about suggesting she take a test at OKCupid. Yes, the test-site turned matchmakers have tests for pretty much anything now. Time and popularity has taken a bit of a toll though, so the super funny and/or snarky questions, answers and analysis are becoming few and far between. Long tests with serious answers about boring topics on the other hand...

Like the "Best Operating System for You Test"

It really wants me to use OpenBSD. Having been there and done that, I find that mildly disconcerting.

If on the other hand, if you want to find out which OS best mirrors your personality, you have to dig a little deeper. A seriously outdated but still mildly entertaining test can be found at BBSpot. It's from 2003, so a lot of the really fun stuff hasn't found it's way into the test, but there is at least one swipe at WindowsME, and that makes up for almost everything.
