Today's Webtip: Interesting Times

yes, we are indeed living in them. An online poll wants to know what you think about that.

There are so many things going on today. I really didn't know where to start. Everyone and their dog has probably already heard that Google is set to announce some new potentially game-changing social networking something or other tonight.

Also this evening, 250 lucky individuals could go listen to Robert Misik talk to Jeremy Rifkin as a part of his series "Genial Dagegen" at the Kreisky Forum in Vienna. Rifkin is one of those big thinkers who can take a walk on the edges of accepted thinking but still get's invited to events where business and political types show up. I think that would be fun to watch. Too bad no one seems to be streaming it.

Hint, hint, Mr. Misik.

The rest of us can take part in a mini version of some big thinking while filling out an online poll put together by The Semantic Web Company, the Technologieagentur der Stadt Wien, and the Zentrum für Innovation und Technologie .

They want to know what you think about how the web has changed our future. There are some good questions with paragraph long multiple-choice answers for you to choose from. The subjects include the future of journalism, the end (or not) of privacy, and the digital divide and much, much more.

I have to admit, my answers aren't always represented, but that might just be because I'm completely and utterly wrong. Give it a shot, and let me know what you think.
